Bug Description
Binary package hint: nautilus
Wishlist item for added functionality, surprisingly missing although most file-browsers have it - or is it down to each different package to sort out?
When saving a file there is no indication of how large the file is and there's also no indication of how much space is empty in the desired location (although i've never seen a file system offer both bits of information which suddenly seems quite obtuse of them).
Anyway, thanks again - keep up the good work
Regards and happy new year from
Tom :)
PS ... Extra Blatherings worth ignoring...
Odd really. I didn't notice before now because i tend to have plenty of file-browser windows open showing me more than enough information but that means my desktop is quite cluttered. I often work with a disk that's almost full because my disk is so tiny and old. I would guess that most people trying Linux for the first time would similarly install on an old disc/system first before committing their main machine to it, jic.
Something that impressed me about linux was the way it didn't grind to an almost complete standstill just because i used most of the space on my disc. I don't get discs to keep them empty, i get them to use and Windows didn't like that, lol.

typo - where i said 'file system' i meant 'file-browser', obviously and i wasn't sure it's up to the file-browser or the individual packages to consider the issue
