Bug Description

I have a Packard Bell EasyNote MX52-B-701NCD AMD64 1,8GHz 4GB RAM 320GB HD ATI Radeon Xpress1200 Atheros wifi.
Running Ubuntu 8.10 with kernel linux 2.6.27-9-generic and Gnome 2.24.1.
Wifi card is atheros-ar5007.

I managed to get it working after som plundering. Although it won't nearly ever connect to the wifi at school (university)
Vista shows full wifi coverage and connects no problem.
Ibex shows nearly 0 coverage and doesn't connect. (actually it does if there is nearly noone else at school, but the signal si so weak)
At home it connects ok, but there i'm in the same room as the wifi router.

I think this is a reason that many don't use Linux distros at my school... PLEASE HELP.

Edited 21.02.09:

This problem is now fixed. I got 100% and i can go online whenever i want.
I think the problem got fixed about a mounth ago, either by Ubuntu update or by the network people at my school.

Thank you for your time and effort:)
