One possibility is opening up the "!yandere end" command so that if any player misses two night actions in a row, any player can then type "!yandere end" to end the game. In fact, it may be useful to allow this even if only one night action was missed.

Potential (if lame) fixes:
1. Kill the leaver.
2. Auto-abstain the leaver.
3. Post-pone the game via Imoutobot. (No further actions/voting allowed?)
4. A forcible end by majority vote of the remaining players.
5. Auto-kill the exited player by the yandere the next night.
6. The leaver's actions/votes are stripped from the total required.

Keep in mind the game can never be sure when a player has in fact disappeared. Because of this, many of Rosalia's suggestions are not feasable.

i was going to suggest having a vote function to end the game, but rosalia wins on that account.

on the note of post-poning the game, would it be possible to leave the game in the system, give it a number or some other id and then start another? that would allow people who have time an energy invested into a particular game the chance to begin again later. it could also be included with the 'end game now' solution for a game that was just started or a game that people don't care about.

I think that sounds best. :) If possible.

Actually, I think the saving of games would be a problem. If the leaver has quit for a while, it could take quite a long time for all players to return, and eventually the saved games would take up a lot of space. You'd have to instigate a limit, and old games could fester there forever, unless they were deleted by Nanobot, luke-jr, or someone, periodically, or via timer.

a decay time would most likely be possible. i've thought of that already, but i'm glad you mentioned it.

The games are pretty quick and small; I doubt anybody would really care enough to want to save a round of Yandere and come back to it later. Saving would be too much trouble for the little (nothing?) it gives.
