Expected: Regular boot as in 8.04

Occurred: Very long boot with most of it spent with blank screen(s). Syslog for boot has 1265 DEBUG messages from gdm and gdmgreeter.

Dual nvidia 8800gtx and dual monitors, xorg.conf attached.

This apparently does not affect operation, it's just that it now takes longer to boot Intrepid than it takes to boot Vista on the same hardware =¬(

I removed the quiet boot option, and the same thing occurred except now the count for gdm/gdmgreeter DEBUG messages is 1303.

Todays's package upgrade...Boots faster but still 1215 DEBUG: messages in syslog (gdm & gdmgreeter).

thank you for your bug report, could you add the syslog and message logs to the bug?

Checked today and the debug messages are gone. The amd64 boots now in the same amount of time required for x86 to boot. (Hooray).

As requested, I will add the current syslog and messages, and will also add a archived syslog from 05-JAN-09.
