In kde 4.1 the cursor gets changed to a big block

I'm using kubuntu intrepid but I have xfce-desktop installed as well.
 After changing sessions the cursor gets changed into a big block when it hovers over the desktop. This doesn't affect most of the applications, only the desktop. The rest of the time the cursor is normal.

I found a similar problem in xfce. Back to the drawing board.

Unfortunately this report lacks some information. Please tell us which versions of KDE and XFCE you are using as well as a precise step-by-step guide on how to reproduce the issue.
Please also explain what you meant with "a similar problem in xfce".
