Bug Description

Release: Ubuntu 8.10

For Example: I have installed a Soudn Blaster Live! in my System. I added a soundfont file at 17:0 to the card and it works perfect with pmidi:

Port Client name Port name
14:0 Midi Through Midi Through Port-0
16:0 SB Live 5.1 EMU10K1 MPU-401 (UART)
17:0 Emu10k1 WaveTable Emu10k1 Port 0
17:1 Emu10k1 WaveTable Emu10k1 Port 1
17:2 Emu10k1 WaveTable Emu10k1 Port 2
17:3 Emu10k1 WaveTable Emu10k1 Port 3

The midi file sounds great, but:
In Nautilus and Totem (gstremer) the midi file will be played with an softwary synth (plugin_bad) and the sound is crap.

what i expect:
Configure the System, that all applications (Firefox, Nautilus, Totem, etc.) uses the same default MIDI playback device.

A new version of GStreamer is available in both Lucid and Maverick and we are wondering if this is still reproducible in any of those versions, May you please test and give us of feedback about it? Thanks in advance.
