Bug Description

Binary package hint: gcolor2

The current gcolor2 icon looks old and tired and needs to be replaced by a superior SVG image.

I presume (maybe incorrectly) that the gcolor2 logo is the same as the GTK logo, in which case an SVG is available here

http://live.gnome.org/GTKLogo?action=AttachFile&do=view&target=gtk-logo.svg

This can be replaced very easily.

I wholeheartedly agree with this bug (the current icon is damned ugly), but it isn't a paper cut. It requires considerable time to craft a new icon, and it doesn't affect the default Ubuntu install. Furthermore, it is not directly a usability bug (although pretty is a feature).

I have created a new version of this logo, if anyone is interested. It's basically just a refresh of the existing concept. I have tried to submit it to the gcolor2 project, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity there. Here's a link to my version:

And I've attached a small PNG version of the artwork.

My I also suggest moving gcolor's old icon path to the more standard '/usr/share/icons/' directory within the launcher's file to be able to theme it appropriately? (i.e.: Icon=gcolor2)
