Bug Description

Binary package hint: dhelp

I am running Kubuntu 8.10 64-bit:

~$ uname -a
Linux Xenophon 2.6.27-9-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 20 22:15:32 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux
bruce@Xenophon:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10

When I last ran dhelp, it was several years ago and under Libranet. The package had apache as a dependency. All info and man pages were indexed.

Invoking the version of dhelp in Intrepid without a web server brings up error messages stating that neither info files nor manpages are available. Installing lighttpd as a web server makes info files available but manpages remain unavailable:
The requested URL /cgi-bin/man/man2html was not found on this server.

Can anyone confirm this on Karmic/Lucid?

Thank you for reporting bug in Ubuntu. I believe you haven't installed optional suggested packages for the functionality you want to have.

$ apt-cache show dhelp | grep Suggests
Suggests: httpd, info2www, man2html, lynx | links | w3m | html2text, catdvi
$ apt-cache show dhelp | grep Version
Version: 0.6.17ubuntu1

So if you optionally want info and man accessible when running dhelp on localhost server install httpd info2www and man2html.

Tested on Karmic.
