parted UI is blank, useless

Binary package hint: parted

When attempting to install Jaunty Alpha 2 (amd64, desktop) I found that parted was unable to continue under manual partitioning. The initial screen would appear listing the current partitions, but any attempt to actually edit the partitions raised an empty or partially empty dialog that can't be dismissed. Afterward it is impossible to continue.

It's a duplicate. It's simply the manual partition editor that's broken.
