Bug Description

If you attach the same camera a second time and select duplicate detection, it will still import every picture it has already imported before, they are just hidden from view.
(This is a variant of the third part of Bug #250899 and is serious enough to merit its own bug, especially since the program cheats the user into believing that detect duplicates does in fact work).

You should really get rid of f-spot in the main distribution until it has at least alpha quality.

Do you promise me to remove f-spot from the default install and relegate it
to multiverse if I do? Otherwise you should do it.

I think this upstream bug seems to be the most relevant.

Florian: Moving software out of the default install affects millions of people and will do nothing to improve its quality. Please try to keep your input constructive and generally in the spirit of the Ubuntu project. Thanks!

I am unduplicating this, because the other bug has the same upstream bug assigned, but the request is actually another. This bug should have been fixed for some time now.
