Bug Description

---update---
same issue below on a compaq nx6110
no problem with wifi on a compaq nc4200

---update---

after an installation of gOS space 2.9 on my compaq nc6320, the wireless will not enable...no blue light. wired connection is fine. i have reinstalled completely as well. not sure where to begin here. not too familiar with linux, let alone gOS, so not sure where to look for issues with hardaware.

any help? thanks...

no "bug" to report, install went smooth

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

The folowing link solved the problem for several people with the Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG, including individuals running Ubuntu 7.1 (which is the version gOS is based on).

In addition here is a lengthy thread on getting wireless to work with the IP/W 2200.

thank you...i did find the first link (http://www.debianadmin.com/enable-wpa-wireless-access-point-in-ubuntu-linux.html) while awaiting a response and it DID work on the compaq nx6110. i will try the same procedure on the compaq nc6320.
still would appreciate any answers as to "why" the intel pro/wireless 2200bg doesn't work unless these additional steps are followed. is this the manufacturer's proprietary setting?
thank you,
matt

You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
