UNR freaks out in composited environment

Bug Description

The panel becomes hidden, and UNR launcher behaves strangely when metacity compositor is enabled. This should be fixed so that apps such as gnome do (which is an must on a netbook) which are composite aware, can be fully used.

I have the same problem.

If i activate "/apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager" and start (for example) seahorse to search a public key, the panel becomes invisible. I can use it, but i can not see it.
This happens also if i go to the preferences dialog in firefox.

I think the problem is maximus. If i turn off maximus everything works well.

I have the same problem, but not on my netbook and I am not using maximus.

However, maximus was a nice hint: I do have a terminal running fullscreen with nog window decoration using Devil's Pie. When I removed the 'undecorate' setting from my Devil's Pie configuration, the panel no longer disappears and the problem is gone.

So I guess there's a bug somewhere in Metacity's compositor triggered by removing window decoration for some window.
