Binary package hint: hotkey-setup

Fail Sleep, Print Screen, Battery.

Spain/Spanish keyboard.

According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HotkeyResearch:

Product name: HP Compaq nx6110 (PY500ET#ABE)
Version: F.0B

Using xev for hotkey.

Sleep hotkey:
1. Fn+F3 should sleep the computer.
2. Hotkey: 150 XF86Sleep

Print Screen:
1. Fn+Ins should run print screen application.
2. Hotkey: 107 Print

Battery:
1. Fn+F8 should run battery application.
2. Hotkey: 244 XF86Battery

Fn hotkeys are working properly with Ubuntu 8.10, same computer.

no, it's not the least bit related. Neither your hardware, nor the hardware of the submitters of either of these bugs, matches. Hotkey handling is vendor-specific.

Ok, just that I understand correct: you are saying that an event "150 XF86Sleep" will be handled different depending on the vendor?

No, I'm saying that any problems with the key being processed are hardware-specific.

The original report indicates that the hotkeys are detected by xev, and that they function with Ubuntu 8.10; reassigning to kubuntu.

Should be fixed in Kubuntu 9.10 and up. (If not, the KDE apps need to handle them by default and this should be reported to bugs.kde.org.
