Bug Description

I use Ubuntu amd64 and when I use openoffice.org2 writer, the spell checker doesn't detect any words which I spell incorrectly. I thought asdasdasdas and glglglgl were real words. This only started happening recently, so after an upgrade in the last few days, but I'm not sure when because I don't use openoffice to type in english very often.

I guess it's worth checking that OOo thinks the spellcheck is on. Does Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Writing Aids have a tick next to it? If so if you click Edit, what language is set and does it have ABC and a tick next to it?

I have checked it, and yes, Openoffice does have the spellchecker on and the language is set correctly to Australian English

I can confirm this on bug on my machine. I've got everything checked off in Tools->Language Settings -> Writing Aids, and still no spell check.

Perhaps glglglgl is really a word and we're just not in the loop. :-)

Relevant versions installed on my machine:
OpenOffice.org 2.0.1ubuntu3-1 and some packages ae 2.0.1ubuntu4
ia32-libs 1.4ubuntu10
ia32-libs-gtk 9
ia32libs-openoffice.org 5
