Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I have a hp nx8220 laptop, with ubuntu hardy. I have to turn off desktop effects off, to play tremulous or ioquake3, because if i dont, the sceen blinks every three seconds. When I turn off the compiz effects, the terminal window show switches to the standard transparency, not showing the windows under the terminal, just the background. It's fine.
But when I quit the game(s) and turn on the effects again, the terminals transparency stays standard (not showing the windows under). Restarting the terminal solves the problem.
Sorry for the grammatical mistakes.

Seems like a graphics card problem to me. What's your graphics card? May shed more light on what's going on.

This was a bug in gnome-terminal that has since been fixed. If you are still having this problem with a different terminal please open a bug against the package for that terminal, not compiz.
