Bug Description

I've added the following lines to /etc/crontab and the lines aren't being executed. The cron log shows the file being reloaded after the changes.

# This one on Wednesday
#
0 4 * * 3 root /backmeup.sh 1>/home/barrie/Desktop/Backup.Log/cron.debug.1.log 2>/home/barrie/Desktop/Backup.Log/cron.debug.2.log

# This one on Saturday
#
0 4 * * 6 root /backmeup.sh 1>/home/barrie/Desktop/Backup.Log/cron.debug.1.log 2>/home/barrie/Desktop/Backup.Log/cron.debug.2.log

I concurrently had webmin installed and removed it hoping for a solution. No difference in behaviour.

Please attach your /var/log/syslog showing the edit and showing the failed run.

Please confirm the location of the script you're trying to run. Cron generally requires full pathnames (/bin/foo or /home/user/foo.sh)

Thanks in advance

At this point my log rotation is to far back for me to even have a clue where to get the /var/log/syslog file you're requesting. The path to the script, /backmeup.sh is expressly stated in /etc/crontab.
