Bug Description

I've got a wireless Logitech VX Revolution on a LG E500 Laptop with Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex. The mouse is recognized correctly and all buttons work as expected.

However, the mouse stops working (randomly) after some time of inactivity (it can be a few seconds), as if it wasn't detected anymore. It is detected again after a certain amount of time, from a few seconds to several minutes. It's of course very annoying...

I can also mention that I installed Hidpoint at the beginning because I thought the mouse wasn't detected but I uninstalled it when I noticed it wasn't needed. I don't know if this could have any influence.

I'm now going to upload the logs mentioned on: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingMouseDetection

After the mouse stopped working I unplugged it as mentioned and it started to work again immediately. I think it stopped once or twice while I was running the commands.

I noticed that this problem also occurs in Windows Vista, so it might be more related to the mouse itself than to the operating system. I'll try to find a computer with WinXP to test there as well and probably file a bug report to Logitech.

Indeed, it doesn't work on any OS, so I brought the device back to the shop and they refunded me. I now own a new Logitech LX 8 which works perfectly!
