Bug Description

Binary package hint: ekiga

I have a Dell Notebook (Inspiron 6400) that came preloaded with Ubuntu. I updated to the latest Ubuntu release (8.10) and wanted to try Ekiga. Here is the output of lspci:

In the First Time Configuration Assistant step "Audio Devices - page 7 / 10" I connected my headset, kept the choice of default audio devices and clicked on the button "Test Settings". The dialog "Audio test running" appeared and strange noise came out of my headphones. After clicking on the "OK" button of the audio test dialog, the noise stopped but Ekiga just freezed. Whenever I try this step, I can reproducably freeze Ekiga. I followed the steps given here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash to produce the attached backtrace.

Hi,

Ubuntu Jaunty comes with Ekiga 3.2.0 which fix numerous bugs. Is this still an issue using Jaunty?

Best regards,
