Akregator Crash following Perl and libcairo2 update

I have been using Akregator without problems (4:4.1.3-0ubuntu1~intrepid2) until yesterday's update of libcairo2 and perl :

Upgraded the following packages:
libcairo2 (1.8.0-0ubuntu1) to 1.8.0-0ubuntu1.1
libcairo2-dev (1.8.0-0ubuntu1) to 1.8.0-0ubuntu1.1

Following that update Akregator crashes whenever fetch feeds is run. It gives the following crash report:

After more than a week this problem appears to have resolved itself and cannot be reproduced now.
