Bug Description
Since last Update of Openoffice there is no printing possible from Openoffice Writer. The Printer does not react at all. For a short time after the last Update of Ooo. Printing from Calc was possible.
Since Ubuntu offers their own drivers for Brother Printers (MFC-440CN) Calc prints huge amounts of pages when starting the print routine. It is close to damaging the hardware. The output starts
%!PS-Adobe-3.0
%% Creator: Openoffice.org 2.4)
For: (paddy)
%% CreationDate: (Tue Dec 23 19:01:26 2008)
etc.
in ends up with at least 20 pages in hex code although only one page is supposed to be printed.
I tried the Brother original drivers and I deleted Cups and made a complete new installation. The results are all the same.
I am running 8.04. and I think this is not a very good performance for an LTS-Version. Everything worked fine at the beginning of 8.04. but now it is getting worse and worse.
Printing is fine from all other applications like Gimp, Firefox, Thunderbird, Abiword and Gnome Office. So from my point of view it is indeed an Openoffice-Problem.
This seems to be Ubuntu problem. Can you please tell us what led you to report a bug against Launchpad Translations ("Rosetta") so we can try to work on improving that as well?
