Bug Description

The problem is similar to the bug presented in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/67189 except that it concerns sftp.

When going to an sftp address from Nautilus (I have a link in my Places folder), a gnome-panel window appears asking me to enter username and password. Though I am given the ability to remember the password forever (or until logout or not at all) and choose this option, the next time I try to open the sftp address again (after for example a reboot), I have to enter the login info.

Of course, the password (and username) should be remembered when I ask of it.

that works fine for me, not confirming. Does it only happens with sftp connections? did you tried with ssh or a smb one?

Hmm, weird indeed, then!

I am afraid I have to say no to both having tried ssh and smb; is there perhaps a test address up somewhere on the internet that I could try?

I have only just got an sftp address from my university for my personal folders on the school so my experience with these things is very well quite limited, but please feel free to shoot with suggestions so that I can try to test what may be wrong with my system!

could you try if that's still an issue in jaunty? do you get a gnome-keyring password prompt or a ssh passphrase one? the ssh agent not being used issue has been fixed now in jaunty

Sorry for the time!

The problem, though, seems to persist in Jaunty, being identical to what happened in Intrepid. I guess it's the ssh passphrase prompt that pops up (in the System Monitor app window, a process called "ssh" starts when the prompt window appears after I go to the sftp address in Nautilus), but I am not sure. I have also attached a shot of the prompt (in Danish, though) so that you may see for yourself.

As always in the prompt, I selected the lowest button ("Always remember") and after reboot, the prompt still reappears.

I have the same problem, in Jaunty. I have no idea where to look for further information on my machine.

Also, since the description of bug #365662 reads "smb:// mounts get stored and existing (most probably from earlier jaunty versions) sftp passwords/keys work." I don't think this is a duplicate.
