my system version: Ubuntu 8.10

bug nr one:
package name: "linux restricted-modules-2.6.27-10-generic

i expected to get a working update for my system

broken packages and upgrades and updates do not work, and many other things doesn't work exactly anymore.

Sorry for the delayed response here. Is this still an issue for you? I noticed the following in your attached log file:

dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/perl-modules_5.10.0-11.1ubuntu2.2_all.deb (--unpack):
 corrupted filesystem tarfile - corrupted package archive

If you removed the corrupted .deb, /var/cache/apt/archives/perl-modules_5.10.0-11.1ubuntu2.2_all.deb, and re-run the update, does it pass? Please let us know. Thanks.
