Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

We've seen Hardy deployments where for whatever reason, /etc/X11/default-display-manager is empty.

It seems the kdm package's config script doesn't cope with this very well, which breaks further updates.

Steps to reproduce:

apt-get remove kdm
rm /etc/X11/default-display-manager
touch /etc/X11/default-display-manager
apt-get install kdm
