Numlock comes on after login. IBM A31p

Bug Description

This just started happening. The numlock key will not turn off after system login. The only way to by pass this is to hold down the shift key then typing the letter but the numlock key is still on. Anyone know what changed? Using Ubuntu 8.04 with all updates.
