Bug Description

I had scim all set up and working great after switching to 8.10. However, after downloading and installing the 210!!! updates the system kept pestering me about, scim no longer works nor can I get it loaded again. This certainly shows why updating is such a risky choice. My only choice now is to reload the entire OS and forgo any updates. OS updates need to be thoroughly tested prior to release. Further, why are there sooooooo many updates for a newly released version?
