Bug Description

Every time I reboot the computer (or start up from power on) the network is switched to some new widget in 8.10. I wouldn't mind if the program kept its settings from one start to the next, but it doesn't. I have a wired network configuration that works and I want it to be the default. However, deleting the auth0 connection does not stay deleted. Please either fix this or take this miserable package out of the mix. Thank you!

I have this issue as well. This wasn't the case in 8.04, and it might not even be this way on all installations of 8.10. The closest thing I have to a work-around is that I created a new profile with my static settings, then select it from the network manager systray icon every time I boot. This is really disappointing. I'm a big evangelist for Ubuntu, but things like this can discourage new would-be users.

I tried manually editing the config file, but network manager screams foul upon boot.

Can't someone fix this?
