Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in linux (kernel).
For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are having an issue. You can learn more about this feature at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

Can you please include the information requested at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingACPI as separate attachments (.txt files and the .tar.bz file).

There is also information there about Fan Issues. Can you please try the directions for booting without acpi and let us know if the problem still exists when acpi is off? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for providing that information. I noticed I am also triaging bug 310803 which you filed, and may be related. Since the symptoms are different, we'll keep the triage separate and leave any determination about a relationship between the bugs to the developers. I will mark this bug as Triaged so a developer can begin work.

It seems that the kernel team doesn't want us assigning the bugs to them anymore, but they are still notified of this bug and will proceed from there.

Cheers.
