Bug Description

When using AllTray to dock programs into the system tray, Compiz's Scale feature ignores such windows (they do not show up in the selection).
This is especially puzzling because other Compiz features (like the Static Application Switcher) have no problems picking up those windows.

Note: This might be a simple matter of adjusting the window_match setting, but I don't know much about that.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/. Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

I cannot reproduce this in karmic. When I minimize a window it doesn't show up in scale. When I use alltray to minimize to the notification area it doesn't show up in scale. When showing the window again from alltray it does show up. If this is not what you are seeing please update the bug. If this is what you are seeing this is not a bug.

I hope this is ok, but I'm reporting on this to let you know that it's not an Ubuntu-specific problem. I use Fedora 12 and have the same issue.

It doesn't matter how I launch my alltray-controlled apps. Here is how to reproduce:

alltray 0.70
compiz 0.8.2
compiz-fusion 0.8.2
x86_64 architecture

1. Launch any app using alltray with a command such as:
  alltray -s -nm gnome-calculator
  alltray -nm gnome-calculator
  alltray gnome-calculator

2. If the window wasn't automatically hidden upon launch (through -nm flag), minimize it to the tray.

3. Restore it through the tray.

4. Invoke the compiz shade effect (mouse to upper-right corner)

A note -- when you use the -nm flag, these windows WILL appear in the compiz shade picker UNTIL the first time they have been minimized to the tray.

I twice referred to the -nm flag incorrectly, meant to say the -s flag.
