Bug Description
Binary package hint: cupsys
have Kubuntu 8.10 and a canon mp210 with canon mp210 drivers from *.deb packages (ver. 2.80). Few days ago the printer did it's job fine. Recently, i upgraded my system (sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade). Later i needed to print some documents, pressed print and a kde printing job icon appeared in my systemtray. But the printer didn't anything. I clicked on the printing job icon - there were any tasks in the queue. Clicked to show completed tasks - there was my document. It was marked as completed. I also clicked to show my printer status - it showed a message like "printer may be not connected".
I trieed to print again from various applications, tried to tun off, turn on the printer, tried to remove the printer from the system and install it again - the same result. the printing job is being marked as completed an printer didn't anything.
Tryed to install the same printer drivers on my girlfriends notebook with fresh kubuntu 8.10 and newest upgrades. The printer was automatically detected, but, damn, the same story. The printer just doesn't print.

Please see Bug 309314. The fix, as I understand it, should be in intrepid-proposed. Does that resolve the issue for you, too?
