Bug Description

In Ubuntu 8.10, I've tried printing multiple pages with Firefox and OO.o Writer and it only prints one page unless I select Collate. No matter how many pages I try to select.

Was it working before? Does the workaround in Bug 309314 help in this case, too?

Yes, it worked flawless before. I've not tried the workaround in 309314, but if I select Collate, it works fine. Pain when printing multiple copies of select pages within a doc though.

I have the same problem with both printers configured on my system, however the collate "fix" only works for one of them.

I'm using a LaserJet 4250n, connected using IPP printing (JetDirect). I'm also using a Toshiba eStudio 451c, connected as well using IPP. Selecting collate in the print dialog will cause the HP to print the requested number of copies. However, the trick doesn't work for the Toshiba. I haven't found a way to get the Toshiba to print more than one copy at all yet. I have had these printers configured and working without problems for at least 3 years now and this problem only started after upgrading to 8.10. They were both working as expected under 8.04.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please attach the CUPS error_log to the bug report as an individual uncompressed file attachment using the "Attachment:" box below.

#In Ubuntu Gutsy or newer, select "System" -> "Administration" -> "Printing" in the main menu of your desktop. The printer setup tool system-config-printer will open. Select "Server Settings" in the list on the left. Then check the checkbox "Save debugging information for troubleshooting" and click "Apply".

# Try to print something.

#Add /var/log/cups/error_log as an attachment to the bug report.

I cannot upload the file, as it says I cannot upload an empty file, even though the file is 16.1 KB in length.

Not sure what is wrong there.
