Bug Description

When opening PyRoom in Ubuntu 8.10 with the Mac4Lin theme installed (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mac4lin/), PyRoom does not show all black, but shows the theme color (gray) outside the border of the writing area. PyRoom works well with other installed themes.

Thanks for the bug report, we always appreciate feedback from our users.

Would you be so kind as to include a screenshot of the problem? When you see the incorrect display, press PrtScn to have Ubuntu automatically take a screenshot of the entire screen. You'll be prompted where to save it.

Could you also confirm which theme you're using? Does this happen with all themes or just some?

Thank you for your time!

Hi,

I can confirm this bug, using the most recent mac4lin gtk theme and any default pyroom theme and custom themes. Screenshot is attached.

The thing is that our current way of applying new styles is pretty messy. There should be some kind of rewrite for the next release.

Thank you Florian for adding the attatchment screenshot....that is exactly the same behavior I get on my system. I'm looking forward to the next release of pyroom!

Hi,

found out the reason. In PyRoom, we're just setting background colors for the widgets. GTK themes seem to have the ability to override those with custom pixmaps (i.e. background images). I didn't know any that does before. Seems like Mac4Lin does.

I'll see if we can override this behavior somehow

background pixmaps are disabled like so: bg_pixmap[NORMAL] = "<none>"
