System freezes when using Window Picker

Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz-core

When activating Window Picker using the upper right corner the system freezes in this state. The windows are all shown but the system isn't reacting any more, no matter what I do.

Perhaps it' the "Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller" driver above? The kernel module loaded on my system is i915:

$ dmesg | grep drm
[ 28.401693] [drm] Initialized drm 1.1.0 20060810
[ 28.409753] [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20060119 on minor 0

It is dated 20060119 but according to http://dri.freedesktop.org/snapshots, 20060403 is the latest.

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
