No touchpad on LG R510 laptop

Bug Description

My touchpad isn't detected (or I don't know how to detect it) using Ubuntu 8.10 in a LG R510 laptop.
I have checked xorg.cong but I don't have an InputDevice section (shouldn't that be automatically created?)

Any hints?

Could you please tell us if Rambo's suggestion has solved your problem?

Thank you.

if I switch to a console using Ctrl-Alt-F1 and then go back to x with Ctrl-Alt-F7 it works perfectly. I've been investigating and it's a kerenel issue with psmouse.c
