Bug Description

After upgrading to KDE 4.2 Beta 1 I found that Kwin was not working( unable to resize, close, minimize windows). The problem can be temporarily fixed by using

Kwin --replace

This works temporarily however gives this output

Output = rogan@Rogan:~$ kwin --replace
                Object::connect: No such signal OrgKdeKephalConfigurationsInterface::statusChanged()
                kwin: X Error (error: <unknown>[DAMAGE+0], request: XDamageDestroy[DAMAGE+2], resource: 0x460095c)

If I logout or restart l then I lose the ability to resize, move, close windows. I have to type Kwin --replace every time to enable me to move windows ect.

If I close the terminal After using kwin --replace It then freezes the system and the task bar and I loose the ability to switch windows
