emails arrive but when I open them the screen is blank

Bug Description

I have never had any problems opening any emails on Thunderbird but just yesterday every email I opened was either a blank screen or a message from Holland America( appears on each email when I open the local folders search message)! I emptied the trash and the sent emails folders but kept a few emails that I hadn't had a chance to read in an "important keepers" file or "email to read yet" file
I have tried everything unsuccessfully to retrieve the email. Yesterday I was able to open a few in the local folder search area but today that isn't working.

 I have never been so frustrated about using my computer as I am now. I am absolutely unable to fix the problem myself and have no idea where to begin but to report it to you. This is my 4th attempt to report but I have no idea if you are receiving this or not. Last Dec. when this happened you took care of it in a matter of days and I was so impressed. Now I am not so sure. I have absolutely no idea how things got messed up and this is very upsetting. I am ready to throw away my computer and start from scratch. What can you do to help! Thank you,
