Bug Description

When using the "Print to File" printer, a box appears to type in a name, and after typing in the name of the file it would be nice to be able to just hit enter to print. I think a typical user would expect such behavior, however the current behavior is that nothing happens when the enter key is pressed inside the name text box.

Confirming based on user input from IRC, and setting to Low as I think it is reasonably expected behavior.

Since this is a feature request, I'll add it to Wishlist. Thank you for reporting this.

I've filed this upstream and linked the bug. Connor, a feature request isn't necessarily Wishlist as per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Importance. If the application is lacking reasonably expected behavior which impacts usability, as this does IMO, it can be Low. I'll set it back but if you really disagree let me know.

I disagree, but I do you see your point. Either way works.

I've added this to the hundred paper cuts project as this seems like a usability issue and is inconsistent with the general desktop / web paradigm of acting on Enter.

gnome-print is not used in the default installation at all in jaunty I'm not sure the hundredpapercut project should be looking at outdated libraries not used in the ubuntu default installation

This happens in the print dialog of firefo, EOG, and gedit for
example, so it is definitely in the default installation. Perhaps the
package assignment is wrong? What is the correct package?

Firefox, EOG and gedit use the GTK+ Printing Dialog, reassigning.
