scanning dialog does not close

Bug Description

Binary package hint: pykaraoke

when i click on add song, i add a folder, and when i click on rescan folder: "scan now", a small dialog pops up saying "scanning" as title, and it never goes away. (see screenshot attached)

using ubuntu 8.10, and pykaraoke 0.5.1

Please run pykaraoke within a terminal window and paste here the output.

Could you try to reproduce this bug on Karmic?

I have exactly the same problem, and I am using LinuxMint 8 Helena (I believe this is based on Ubuntu Karmic) and PyKaraoke 0.7.0. I ran it within a terminal and I got the following after clicking SCAN NOW :

This has been fixed in PyKaraoke CVS today: unicode filename support was broken by some user contributions. This will be rolled into a PyKaraoke v0.7.3 release, but meanwhile is available from Sourceforge CVS while testing takes place.
