Bug Description

After installing bzr-1.9.win32-py2.5.exe, every bzr command generates the "Unable to load bzr-svn extensions - did you build it?" error message, as reported for a different installation binary in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bzr/+bug/293868. Apparently it was fixed for the standalone installer, but not the py2.5 one.

The non-standalone versions do *not* include bzr-svn. I have the feeling you are getting this error because you installed bzr-svn manually, and have not updated it when you updated bzr.

I don't think I ever tried to install bzr-svn manually. I originally
installed bzr-1.5.win32-py2.5.exe shortly after it came out, and then
tried to update to 1.9. Since getting the error message, I have
uninstalled bzr and reinstalled. If I install 1.9 I still get the
error message. If I install 1.8 instead there is no error message.

I don't actually need bzr-svn. So if bzr is supposed to work without
it, that's fine with me. In that case my error summary would need to
be revised I guess. I had assumed it was a necessary component only
because of the error message.

The INSTALL file has a short remark that you have to call 'make' after unpacking.

But this fails also: Exception: apr-config not found. Please set APR_CONFIG environment variable

Obviously are some apache modules also needed.

Seems that the docs are out of date. Who could fix these?

I downloaded bzr-svn-0.4.16

Pardon, this was on Ubuntu Linux, manually installing the extension.

bzr-svn no longer includes the binaries itself and the installers already install subvertpy properly.
