Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Goto, i can't give any ".crash" report because my dir /var/crash is empty. My system just freeze and i have to kill the active application or reboot entire system by pressing power button. I sending my "syslog" there a log of "Call trace" but i can't send any additional info because the system don't give me it.

Best regards,
Cleber Santz.

Okay, thanks for the answer. Are you sure that apport is enabled?

I am no expert, but while looking into the log I found:
Dec 11 08:43:44 clbr kernel: [ 1194.030073] Oops: 0000 [1] SMP

And things like this just before the crash of the different applications. I think there is a kernel oops and this is a linux kernel issue and not firefox/rhythmbox/VirtualBox/ issue (many other applications crashed too, look at the logs).

You could install the kerneloops package, to see that (or if) it is a kernel oops, I think.

But remember: I'm no expert, just try to help.

Yes, is a kernel oops. Now i'm getting a crash report, is been helpful if apport and kerneloops come activate/installed by default.

I'm open a new bug
