Thank you for your bug report. However, Ekiga 3.00 is not in Intrepid which is why you can't upgrade to it, so I'm closing this report as invalid.

Please feel free to report any other problems you find.

Whoops! I just noticed that you're asking for Ekiga to be updated to 3.00. For some reason, I thought I read that you were trying to upgrade Ekiga to 3.00.

Anyway, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for the criteria for updating packages in a stable release. Generally, updates are only provided for severe or high-priority bugs, and severe regressions. Updating Ekiga to 3.00 would not be eligible for a stable release update.

However, it might be possible to backport it to Intrepid, so I'll add an intrepid-backports task for that.

Depends: libopal3.4.2-dev which is a virtual package.

These two packages need to be backported before backporting this one. As they are new (and therefore unused by any other package in intrepid), I'll try to backport them and see if it works.

libpt2.4.2 is ok, no conflict with existing package

libopal3.4.2 needs libpt2.4.2 to be backported , but conflicts with libopal2.2-develop. Nevertheless, the rdepends of libopal2.2-develop are :
Reverse Depends:
  libopal3.4.2
  simpleopal
  ekiga-gtkonly
  libspeex1
  libopal-dev
  libopal-2.2
  ekiga

So if we backport ekiga I think nothing will be broken. I'm testing backporting ekiga 3.0 right now from Jaunty.

If the two packages said are backported, which should not cause trouble, ekiga b/i/r in prevu
+1 so

This should be set incomplete, as it's waiting on packages that aren't available yet
