when Help menu item opens in browser, inkscape dialog stuck until browser quits

inkscape svn 20346, ubuntu 8.10, broser: FireFox 3.0.4

1. Menu Help> New in this version (actually any item opening a browser)
2.dialog appears "wait opening blabla working.."
3.browser opens with item
4. dialog stays in inkscape, impossible to cancel or close the dialogue or do anything else in inkscape untill the browser is closed, if you close the browser the dialogue disapears and you can use inkscape normaly.

this happens if the browser is totally closed.

If the browser is already open with some page, then the help item opens in a new tab and the dialogue disappears after the opening acting normally, you can continue using inkscape.

I have exactly the same issue, using Inkscape 0.46 for Windows, Win XP SP3, Firefox 3.5.2.
All RIco's symptoms replicated in all details on my system.
