Problem with Firefox Web-Browser after Updation

Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I have Converted my System From Ubuntu 8.4 - 8.10 2 days back along with it Firefox also got updated from that period many of my Bookmark sites not working. Even "mozilla.org" is showing as page not found. But addon page I am able to access but that to Not able to download the addon package and install. Also my network connection also gone very slow after this updation. I am still not sure of which updation is giving problem.

Are you able to run regular system updates with good speeds? To me it sounds more like a network-package problem and Firefox is just the front end of it.
