nividia-glx-173 doesnt work with 2.6.28 in Jaunty

Bug Description

After updating Jaunty kernel to 2.6.28-2-* nvidia drivers stopped working I'm attaching X log for last session.

I tried asigning the 2.6.28 version but it seems i cant, search shows nothing for it.

For some reason linux-restricted-modules wasnt iupgraded when kernel upgrade I'm gonna reboot and update bug as needed.

I tried using failsafe mode but never got gdm, gnome or TTY* here is updated failsafe log.

Finailly got GDM too boot in low graphics session. Using jockey-gtk it shows that no drivers are being used so i clicked activate and it says its installing pacakages but nothing happens it brings me right back to screen and it says its not active. Attaching xorg.conf

It seems that nvidia-glx-173 wasnt installed but why not? shouldnt it have been upgraded since it was already installed on 2.6.26 kernel? I will update bug after i finish this.

from the comment below it should be 2.6.27-7
It seems that nvidia-glx-173 wasnt installed but why not? shouldnt it have been upgraded since it was already installed on 2.6.26 kernel? I will update bug after i finish this.

installing drivers and rebooting didnt chnge anything nor did trying to use jockey-gtk. same errors:
cant load nvidia kernel.......

It seems that this bug is related to LP#305706 [1] (and vice versa :) ).
Building and installing the nvidia driver v. 173.14.15, should fix your problem.

I cant build this at this time i'm not near a Ubuntu system, still
should be fixed in Jaunty as well If the bugs are same please mark them
as dups if un sure let me know and ill look at them when i get a minute
