Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

I can second this bug with the build of Brasero 0.8.2 in Ubuntu 8.10 (amd64 version). VCD Imager is installed as are all other dependencies and "suggested" packages.

STEPS:
A: Create a new video project
B: Add video files of any kind to it. This originally happened to me when I was using MPEG files produced by Avidemux's VCD preset but it's the same for whatever video files I throw at it.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR:
I expected Brasero to take my VCD-compliant MPEGs and burn a VCD upon my clicking the "burn" button.

ENCOUNTERED BEHAVIOUR:
Brasero pops up a window called "Disc Burning Setup" that asks me to select a disc to write to (either my CD-R drive or an image file) and tells me that the disc can be recorded. The video options can be set but the "burn" and "properties" buttons remain greyed out and inaccessible.

First of all, as you know that there are very few Mac users in comparison with Windows and this makes your job harder when you want to burn AVI movie and video files to DVD on Mac. There are many CD or DVD burners for windows, but when you want to burn AVI to DVD on Mac system, it will become more difficult.
Don't Worry, Just Try this <a href="http://www.imediacreator.com/mac-dvd-creator.html#131"><u>Mac AVI to DVD Burner</u></a>, it can easily <a href="http://www.imediacreator.com/mac-dvd-creator.html#131">burn avi movie files to dvd on Mac</a>.
