Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

Starting gnome-panel displays the following questions:

"The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_MultiLoadApplet"
"The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_InhibitApplet"
"The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet"
"The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_Panel_TrashApplet"
"The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_MixerApplet"
Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?

I've been reinstalled gnome-applets and gnome-applets-data and purged configs but it doesn't help!
It is probably bug of libgtop2 packages but I don't know...
I don't see any logs in my system.
Where will I find fixed packages?

I'm using Ubuntu 8.10
gnome-panel version: 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu2.1 (intrepid-updates)
gnome-panel-data version: 1:2.24.1-ubuntu2.1 (intrepid-updates)

Is this only my problem? I don't think so. It had been a problem in debian systems (and it is!), look at links, please:

Is this reproducible?
Yes, this is. This repeats on another accounts in my system, reinstallation doesn't help, I don't know when it repeats...

What specific steps?
I've done many many steps to fully eliminate this bug, nobody knows what is the accurate solution...
and I probably fix this bug in my system but I don't know when it eventually returns

Can you try creating a new user and trying with the fresh user account, to see if it is an issue just with your user?

Thanks

And not saying... it returns...
Marcin@:
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop (or sudo killall gdm), Alt+F2 log in and type: sudo apt-get remove --purge gnome-applets gnome-applets-data and install this again,
or
then remove files in /tmp like: all files with the word "gconf" and "orbit-yourusername"
or
aptitude search applet, and reinstall every applet:)
or
sudo apt-get install gnome-desktop:)
or something else...

Please try purging and reinstalling libpanel-applet2-0, as your libpanel-applet so file seems to be corrupt.
