Bug Description

Binary package hint: hardware-monitor

Running Ubuntu Intrepid on netbook Acer Aspire One A110L. Hardware Monitor run as applet in the panel does correctly report wired ethernet activity, but never sees wireless.

Wireless is on 'wlan1'. Wireless is using driver 'ath5k_pci' and is working ok (but at low speed).

I noticed that hardware monitor is consuming 5-7% CPU, which is quite a drain for a netbook!

Confirmed.

This happens to me too. There is just a flat line. This is true for both ingoing and outgoing traffic.
I have the Intel iwl3945 card, so i don't think this is isolated to wifi chipset.

I am actually using an external linksys usb adapter now, because of another bug.
But, this isn't related to hardware anyway.

Attaching backtrace and strace. The backtrace shows that the applet looks for data in /sys/class/net/wlan0/statistics/*, but since my card is on wlan1, that directory does not exist.
