Boot fail because of the sound when it attempts to start the hotplug daemon

Bug Description
The boot process fails when trying to start the hotplug daemon on this board "Intel® Desktop Board D915PLWD", only boots when i disable the sound in the BIOS.

We no longer use hotplug in dapper -- please try a Flight 3 CD (eg. the Live CD) in your machine and see whether you have the same problem with the new infrastructure.
