Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better.

The interesting thing from DpkgTerminalLog.gz is
 Setting up bandwidthd-pgsql (2.0.1+cvs20050208-11) ...
 hostname: Unknown host
 dpkg: error processing bandwidthd-pgsql (--configure):
  subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

It seems there is a problem resolving your hostname. As this is most likely not a bug but a configuration issue I convert this bug report to a question

Could you please open a terminal window , type
 hostname
 hostname -f
and post its output?

I am having the same error message trying to install the same package. I have run the 2 commands & got:-

alan@phaetoncommunications:~$ hostname
phaetoncommunications.co.uk
alan@phaetoncommunications:~$ hostname -f
phaetoncommunications.co.uk
alan@phaetoncommunications:~$
