Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

Hallo,
I am using Kopete 4.1.3 with Kubuntu 8.10. In Settings, my video device is shown and works. When using Kopete and sending my USB 2.0 device webcam to another member, he does not receive any invitation and no webcam pic. Also I do not receive any webcam pic from him. Same problem with KDE 4.1.2. With KDE 3.5.9 and Kubuntu 8.04 webcam works fine.
Here my dmesg section concerning my webcam.

I think most problems concern to video drivers.
Thank you.

Looks like a bug in the drivers for the webcam? Throwing over to the kernel to see if anybody who knows more there can triage this properly.

Does the camera work with other camera applications?

It partially works with xawtv. I get a picture, but I can't adjust it and
the program locks up when I try. I have a Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. With
Kopete, I just get squiggly lines. After studying the uvcvideo driver
website, I found that there are different versions of the Quickcam Pro 9000.
Some versions work with the driver and others don't.
