Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
After todays updates (Jaunty) of the package xserver-
I installed the updates, restarted the system (was required/asked), after the reboot I got the error message. Somehting like low screen graphics. (I'm sorry, I didn't write this down).
I looked up in the xserver log, I found this:
==============
(II) Scanning /usr/share/
(II) Matched intel from file name intel.ids
(==) Matched intel for the autoconfigured driver
(==) Assigned the driver to the xf86ConfigLayout
(II) LoadModule: "intel"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/
dlopen: libdrm_intel.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
(EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/
(II) UnloadModule: "intel"
(EE) Failed to load module "intel" (loader failed, 7)
(EE) No drivers available.
Fatal server error:
no screens found
==============
I rebooted again, and know I did write the message down:
===========
Ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode.
The following error was encountered. You may need to update your configuration to solve this.
(EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/ xorg/modules/ drivers/ /intel_ drv.so
(EE) Failed to load module "intel" (load failed, 7)
(EE) No drivers available.
After I press OK on this message I get a popup, here I can choose to start Ubuntu in low-graphics mode (and other options), when I do that I get to see my background wallpaper and icons on the desktop but no panels.
